The exam
What первичная аккредитация actually involves
Primary accreditation is the licensing examination you must pass to practise medicine in Russia. For the specialty Лечебное дело — General Medicine — it has three stages, and you sit all three.
Everything on this page is what the published descriptions of the stages say. Details can change and can differ between accreditation centres, so treat your own centre as the authority — not us.

Stage 1 —
The computer draws 80 test tasks for you automatically, from one national database of assessment tools. No two candidates get the same paper, and you cannot know in advance which questions you will see.
Each question has 4 options, of which exactly one is correct. There are no А/Б/В/Г letters beside them — the screen shows the options and nothing else.
You have 60 minutes for the whole sitting. That is 45 seconds a question including reading it, which is the part most people underestimate.
What counts as a pass
- Passed
- 70% or more correct — 56 of 80 questions.
- Failed
- 69% or less. The result is generated automatically as a percentage of the total.
Stage 2 —
Assessed in person at a simulation centre, on manikins and with examiners watching. You move between stations and are marked against a checklist at each one.
This stage cannot be sat online — it is your hands on a manikin, watched. Preparation for it is a different matter, and material covering the stations is something we may add; under the one-subscription promise it would reach anyone already subscribed at no extra charge.
Either way, what is worth knowing now is which stations exist, so that none of them is a surprise on the day:
- Сбор жалоб и анамнеза Taking the complaints and the history
Physical examination — cardiovascular
Physical examination — respiratory
Physical examination — gastrointestinal
Basic adult CPR and airway management
Emergency medical care
Intravenous injection
Preventive health screening (dispensarisation)
Station lists are set centrally and can be revised. Ask your accreditation centre for the list that applies to your sitting.
Stage 3 —
Computer-based case solving. You get 2 situational tasks, each one a patient — history, examination, laboratory and instrumental results — followed by 12 questions about that patient. 24 questions in total.
As at stage 1, the tasks are drawn for you automatically from the unified database.
You get 30 minutes per task, timed separately. Running out of time on the first does not eat into the second.
The questions are not all the same shape. Some offer more than four options, and some have more than one correct answer — you are not told which, or how many to choose.
What AkkredPrep prepares you for
Stage 1 — in full
4,052 questions across 24 topics, and mocks in the real format.
Stage 2 — planned
The assessment itself is hands-on, in a room with an examiner. We may add preparation material for it — the station checklists and what each one is marked on. If we do, anyone already subscribed gets it at no extra charge.
Stage 3 — in full
812 situational tasks, each with 12 questions, practised untimed or against the clock.
Every question in both banks carries the Russian original, an English translation, a glossary of the Russian medical terms it uses, and a written reason for the answer. The mocks give you none of that while the clock runs, because the exam gives you none of it either.
